Concept
"A full contact between body and nature" is the focus of my recent works. Giant rattan and bamboo are scattered around the exhibition area like nerves, vessels, arteries and veins. When the audiences enter these webs, they can activate their tactile senses, olfaction, and visions. The artwork is a large scale hand-made weaving that represents the collective labor and economic patterns of Taiwan in the 1960-70s. This is a reverse way of thinking toward the informative world in the civilized society. The work also explores the energetic power in our lands that is local, grass-root, and nonintellectual. My experiences in the mountains allow me to come to a clear understanding of the destiny that bonds humanity and nature.
